Closing Night Party

The Press Room

704 Opera Alley, Tacoma, Washington

The Tacoma Sunday Ledger was publish in Tacoma from 1883-1937.

Saturday, May 30, 2026,  from 6 – 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate the close of CCMA with an unforgettable evening at the historic Press Room—a space once home to the printing presses of the Tacoma Daily Ledger and Tacoma News Tribune. In the early 20th century, this room helped shape the voice of Tacoma during its golden age of print media; today, it sets the stage for connection, creativity, and celebration.

Enjoy the sounds of The Jazz Rays, a beloved local ensemble known for bringing vibrant jazz to community gatherings across the region. Grab a bite, sip a drink, and cool off with locally made, small-batch ice cream, then unwind as you reflect on the week with fellow cooperators.

Looking to get hands-on? Saiyare Refaei (they/them/she/her) will host a block printing activity featuring a custom CCMA print you can make and take home—a creative way to commemorate your experience. Saiyare is a Chinese Iranian artist based in Tacoma, Washington, whose practice spans community murals, printmaking, and meticulous pointillism drawings. As a member of Justseeds Cooperative, they strive to use art as a tool for community building, education, and healing, often working collaboratively as a conduit to help visualize the stories that need to be told in our communities.

Whether you’re dancing, making art, savoring a sweet treat or deep in conversation, this closing night party is a chance to celebrate the spirit of cooperation in a space built on storytelling, community, and shared voice.
