CCMA 2020 Cancellation FAQ

After many weeks of monitoring the evolving situation around COVID-19, including guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, it is with great regret that we announce the unavoidable cancellation of this year’s CCCMA conference, which we had planned to hold in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 4-6.

We recognize the importance of the CCMA to the food co-op community and we know that this will come as a disappointment to those who had planned for months to attend. While it is not the outcome we wanted, amid all the uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and our own staff is paramount.

Many of you are on the front lines, stocking shelves, and keeping your communities fed through this time. Our hope is that we can unite in the face of uncertainty, care for one another, and emerge stronger.

We thank you for your patience, understanding, and partnership.

Can CCMA 2020 be convened virtually?

UW Center for Cooperatives staff and the CCMA Planning Committee are exploring the possibility of making some of CCMA 2020 content available online. Please complete a brief survey to share your thoughts on content and level of interest in participating.

Can CCMA 2020 be postponed until later this year?

We considered postponing CCMA 2020 until later in the year, however we decided against it. There are many national and regional cooperative education events throughout the year and we do want compete with these events. We look forward to bringing everyone together in Sioux Falls in June 2021.
