Shari Gross has been a member/owner at the Erie Food Co-op since 1985 and has served on the board of directors for more than 15 years, most of those as President. With her leadership, the Erie Food Co-op recruited and selected an outstanding General Manager/CEO, experimented with a food truck, adopted a patronage dividend policy, completely revised the Co-op’s policy governance manual, garnered board support for the startup of a second store and more. She has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and has had a long career in non-profit and government administration, and currently runs a non-profit mental health treatment facility for youth. Her professional interests include principle-driven leadership, trauma-focused care, and effective organizational governance. She is also a singer/songwriter and an as-of-yet unpublished author of adult fiction novels. She lives in Erie, Pennsylvania with her wife and three felines. She now serves as the Erie Food Co-op Treasurer.
