  • Lake Superior Marine Museum
    • A FREE museum all about the Great Lakes. If you want to observe one of the giant ore boats going in and out of the harbor under the lift bridge, the museum posts their schedules.
  • Park Point Beach
    • Walk the beautiful sandy beach of Lake Superior. A couple hundred yards after crossing the lift bridge there’s a public access parking lot straight ahead, or take a slight right and park at Lafayette Community Center, or drive the whole stretch down to the Park Point Beach House.

    • The cafe, marketplace, and Folk School share the same building. This is a unique place for artists in the Duluth area and a favorite college student hangout!

    • Easy parking, great view of the entire city! Either walk the ramp to an overlook or climb to the top of Enger Tower, dedicated in 1939 by Crown Prince Olav of Norway and his wife Princess Martha. FREE

    • The original Fitgers Brewery has been repurposed to host local shops and restaurants. It’s about a 1 mile beautiful walk along the lake walk from Canal Park. There’s also ample parking.

    • Lester Park TrailIf you’re looking for a quick escape into the woods and to see some waterfalls, hop over to Lester Park. There are a few small loops or drive up Seven Bridges Road and find your own trailhead. Follow the road up to Skyline Parkway for a scenic loop back to the DECC.
